It's been a while but I figured it was time to update.
Ah, where to start.....Lucy. :) Lucy is 16 months old now and oh my....what a handful! She's definitely kept me busy these past few months and she makes everyday so fun. She seems to learn new things everyday. Her newest things include pretending to whistle and saying, "Oh wow!" to just about everything. She is still using baby signs but she also says the words with most of the signs so it works. :) Sometimes her words aren't very clear so the fact that she signs them as well really helps.
Lucy has her moments. She throws fits when I tell her she can't take her stuffed animals in the bathtub, she sits in her toy basket and then gets stuck and screams for me to get her out, she is going through a picky eating stage and the one thing I know she'll always eat is grapes. lol She is also obsessed with balloons. I swear, this girl can see a balloon from all the way across Walmart. All of a sudden she'll point and yell, "Boon!!" It takes me forever to see what she's looking at. I took her to pick up some diapers yesterday and Walmart had balloons that say "clearance" EVERYWHERE. The whole time she was like, "Boon! Boon! Booooonnn!!" :)
Well, we're about 4 months into the deployment. Can I just say I am so ready for this to be over. The first 4 months, sure they sucked, but it was fine. I stayed busy, we had the holidays to get through, it was ok. But now? It seems like everyday just drags on and on. Everyday, all I can think about is how I absolutely can not wait for Patrick to be home. I've always been such an independent person, but it's different now. It's hard to sleep at night while I lay alone in our bed. Sometimes there are moments where all I wanna do is talk to Patrick. Talk to him about my day, tell him funny things Lucy did, vent about things that upset me....But I can't. And sometimes, I can't talk to anyone.
And even though this is one of the hardest things I've ever gone through, it's completely worth it. Patrick is not only a hero, he's OUR hero. I will gladly wait for him to come home because there's no one in this world I'd rather spend my life with. I know it's hard for us but I can hardly imagine how it is for him. I just hope these next few months go by quickly so we can be together again.
Other than that, we're just taking it day by day. Some are better than others, but I'm just thankful to have my amazing husband and friends.

It's been a while!
Ok, so it's been a little too long. :) I had lost my password for a while and was having a rough time signing into this but I finally figured it out! :) I'll try and update this tonight after Lucy falls asleep!
